My insomnia is back. Worse than the last episode, not as bad as the time before just yet.
After years of this, I have learned that many things that SEEM like a brilliant idea while in the midst of my sleep deprivation are not as awesome once I’m able to sleep again.
At one point, I started making a “List of Things That Seem Like A Good Idea But Possibly Aren’t — Check Back After Getting Sleep” lists.
Today, Office Mom, which is like being the RA for a bunch of socially awkward, raucous group of college kids away from home for the first time, told me I should clear my brain by writing one of my silly stories. I’m fresh out of silly, but I’ll share my list from this bout of insomnia. The list thus far:
Pajama Work Pants — they’re dressy enough for work, but you don’t have to change when you get up. Possible problem in knowing when the official clothes changing time comes around.
The Talk Back App — an app that lets you reply to the often stunningly bad CNN breaking news push notifications. Because sometimes, I think they need my feedback.
Where In The World Is The iPhone 5, Tim Cook? board game. Pretty self explanatory. Possible problem: No one ever wins and everyone leaves unhappy with their new gadget.
FaceTime on the bases– Fans could FaceTime with guys stuck on base, waiting for a hit. Possible problem: Pretty much everything.
Everybody Poops & Tweets — A bathroom book of hilarious tweets to read in the bathroom. Possible problems: NONE I CAN THINK OF
Note: this list is subject to change at any moment. It all depends on how long I go without sleep. I’d say check back, but after that last idea, I don’t think it could get any better either!

I’d buy the last one!

Ps: sucks about the insomnia. I get it every now and again. Lots of mind games you can try. I find starting a DVR’d episode of Joy of Painting puts me down like a tranquilized rhino. Good luck.

I’m all for Face Time while the players are on base… it would keep ME entertained during that game. And that is important. My husband doesn’t think so, but he is mistaken :)

Insomnia is happening Down Under as well. Where it’s winter. So it’s not a heat-related thing. But we suspect it might be linked to stress and the asshole neighbor’s car alarm. I have ordered falling anvils for us both. This should help us get some sleep. Beep Beep Your Ass.

Insomnia sucks big time. Sometimes, I like to run through football plays my husband has told me about and have found that works almost every time. And I like football.
The Pajama work pants thing? Hilarious. Sadly, I know people who would do that in a heartbeat if they thought they could get away with it, and would not be able to see any potential problems whatsoever. Mind you, at least one of those people has also come to work with a shirt stained in KFC grease, so you can make the call on that one. ;)
Hope the insomnia goes away soon. Aren’t comments a good cure for that?

Being a book reviewer, my favorite is ‘Everybody Poops and Tweets’. SO contemporary! A book the ENTIRE FAMILY can relish! Wait – let me TWEET THAT…

Pajama Work Pants & the Tweeting bathroom book are pretty brilliant. I’m pretty sure the others would lead to you being sued for having come up with the ideas…

I would like to place an order for 5 pairs of Pajama Work Pants, please. Clearly you are going to be rich!
