I installed a test run of an app on a coworker’s phone today, and it turns out that he’s super paranoid about “people watching him” which shouldn’t be surprising because he’s pretty paranoid about things that can kill him, rain getting on his car and “the cloud”.
At first I thought he might be kind of kidding, but then I realized he was only partly kidding, and he’s like totally freaking out that I can now see all of his private thoughts because of an app on his phone. Which is both flattering and a little off-putting. Plus also, the app can’t read thoughts. Probably.
For the record, I’d never sit and spy on him, because I am a professional. And that would be wrong. And because I don’t really have that kind of attention span.
I’m pretty sure that it’s not wrong to send users push notifications though, right?
I’m pretty sure that he’s turned the phone off at this point, unless he’s reading this right now, in which case, I totally know he turned the phone off.
One of us is going to have a long weekend.
